I came here to learn more about the makeup and hair and get better skills in practice of doing it. I have attended in all lectures not only because I was thinking about the attendance, but I found it very interesting. I have been attending in every lecture with a joy and interest to learn something new. I have enjoyed exploring about Elizabethans era as well. I learned what cosmetics and what kind of hairstyle people had in the past. I also like an idea working in groups. Consequently, I got better communicating skills. Unfortunately, it was not easy for me to write bloggs. The fact that I am not English bothered me to express my thoughts. I hope after a while it will be much easier. On the other hand, I feel I have done a good combine between traditional Elizabethan and contemporary look. I had so many makeup ideas, that it was complicated to stick on one makeup chart. I always wanted to try something new. Even so, I learned how to work on one idea and make it even better. I relly enjoyed of doing different style makeup and looking forward to learn something new.

Final look and assessment (parter design) evaluation
On the assessments day I was prepared and quite confident about everything. I put the black towel on the table and I placed my all cosmetics and brushes I needed for Antonelas makeup.I attached the chart and notes on the mirror to remind me what to do. We had to wear black clothes to look professional, so I wore black top, pants and shoes. My own hair was tight back as it had to be. Our lecture was looking at our stations and marked down how we were working.
Generally, our assessment went well except the day when I had to be makeup artist and had to take picture of my work. We all have used one camera as last time, because of running time. However, it was something wrong with cameras settings, that is why my pictures are a little bit blurry. This is how we learn from our mistakes.
Anyway, it was great to work with my partner Antonela, because she attended in all lectures and we had enough time to practice our projects. And here is a result of my work.

Practice for contemporary Elizabethan look
This is the first Antonela's look for contemporary Elizabethan. Her inspiration is Rihanna. Antonela used brown colors, because it reflects Rihhana's look. Sue told to Antonela to change something, that would look more Elizabethan.
Antonela created new look, which is looks more Elizabethan, because she used brighter blusher, lighter foundation and gold color for the lips and eye corners. It gives liveliness and splendor. So it is her finally look.
I should work more on the cheeks. It is quite hard to make a symmetrical blush on the cheeks.
I took a picture with flash to see if the makeup (cheeks) still visible exposure to the light. As you can see, I need to apply more color on the cheeks.

Final look and assessment (My design)
I changed my mind, because my other makeup chart was a little bit too difficult and it took too much time for my partner, so I changed my idea to this. My all products that I used are written on the chart. I will use the white fake eyelashes and I will color half of them red supracolor to make eyes bigger. Gold color on the lips and under the eyes gives a nice reflect to the light and it relates to Elizabeth wealth. I will keep pink/red cheeks and pale foundation as it was in my first face chart. My inspiration is Lady Gaga, so her makeup when she wore meat dress inspired me to create this contemporary Elizabethans makeup.
And here are pictures from the assessment. It is my design and Antonella's work on me. I think she made it look nice and she did a great job. I am happy.

Review of the Taming of the Shrew
2005 ''The Taming of the Shrew'' is an adaptation of William Shakespeare 's play of the same name. This is a funny comedy with talented actors such as Shirley Henderson (Katherina), Rufus Sewell (Petruchio). Jaime Murray (Bianca), Stephen Tompkinson (Harry), Twiggy Lawson (Mrs Minola), David Mitchell (Tim Agnew).
I really loved watching this movie. It is a movie about strange and extraordinary love story between Katherina and Petruchio. Katherina is a politician running for leadership of the opposition, who one day aims to be Prime Minister. Her style is very conservative. This can be seen from her dress, hairstyle and she wears no makeup. She is unpleasant, strange, unsightly, surly and always dissatisfied with everything. Even she is 38 years old, but still virgin. It seemed that this women could never get married. However, Petruchio, seduced her and they eventually married. The dialogue between Katherina and Petruchio was brilliant. Petruchio is forthright man, who came to the wedding wearing high heels, makeup, velvet coat and miniskirt. That was very funny.
Katherina's sister and mother are two completely different personalities, both character and appearance. Her sister and mother wears many jewelry and fashion, colorful clothes. They really likes the attention of men and they are very confident and admired. I noticed, that Katherina's mother wears purple color. In many episodes she wears purple makeup or clothes or some accessories.
At least Katherina wore the white dress, as it should be in the wedding. But she still kept her hair in the bun, which in the honey moon became half down.
I suggest for everyone to watch this movie and try to empathize into this extraordinary love story.

Eyebrow coverage practice at home
I tried to use an information that i learned in the lecture, how to cover the eyebrow on natural color face. Actually I really wanted to find it out if it is possible to cover my own dark eyebrows. First of all I took soap, water, brush and applied eyebrow against the hair growth and backwards. Secondly I took ''Illamasqua'' loose powder and red shadow from the ''Kryolan'' blusher palette ( red color hides combines differences between dark color and skin color) and applied on the eyebrow. Then I put a foundation on the top. I used dry powder and foundation two times, because I needed more layers to cover my dark eyebrows hair. I think the result is quit good, comparing between my natural eyebrow and covered one.
