When I heard about our project to create contemporary Elizabethan, I straightaway thought about Lady Gaga. The reason why i chose Lady Gaga is that her appearance reminds me the Virgin queen. She has a pale skin and similar face features. Especially in those pictures, where she is with white eyebrows and eyelashes. Then she looks exactly like Elizabethan I. Lady Gaga has also an exceptional clothing and makeup style and she is one of the most exclusive style person in nowadays. Lady Gaga is also strong, confident and powerful women as well as was Elizabethan I. Consequently, Lady Gaga is my new Elizabethan and my inspiration for the makeup project.
I even found an amazing comparison between Elizabethan and Lady Gaga. Here are two similar pictures, but one is from XVI century and another one is from XXI century.
On the left side you can see Elizabethans ''The Armada portrait''. Symbolism is prevalent in this famous image and there are three versions of it. Pearls symbolizes the purity. Her right arm is next to the imperial crown and her hand is on the globe, precisely - her fingers rest upon the Americas. The globe means that Elizabethan is mistress of land sea. In the background you can see scenes from the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
On the right side is Betty T Kaos's painting, which was painted in 2009. It is painting of Lady Gaga as Queen Elizabeth I. Lady Gaga is shown with an eye orb, Hello Kitty, a bleeding heart, and her mouth dripping with glittering blood. She is part of an art movement in the cross of post modernism and popular culture and an interesting multi-disciple performance artist.

In 2009, Lady Gaga met Queen Elizabeth II, of England, but dressed as Queen Elizabeth I. Of course her dress was contemporary, but still reminds Elizabethans I style. Even their poses in these pictures are very similarly. Both are with red dresses.
I found some similarity between these purple Elizabethan's and Lady Gaga's dresses. First of all they are the same color. Secondly, the similar texture of the Elizabethans shoulders bow and the edges of Lady Gaga's dress. And third, they both look gorgeous and magnificent.
According all those pictures and similar facts about these two ladies, I could confidently say, that Lady Gaga is XXI New Elizabethan!
