Val Garland

Val Garland is an amazing makeup artist. At first she trained as hair colorist in Australia, but later she  turned into makeup. She has worked on a lot of Vogue covers and with many models and famous people such as Kate Moss, Georgia Jagger, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez etc. Val also has worked with such talented people like Lee McQueen, John Galliano, Nick Knight, Tim Walker and Steven Klein. She is known in MAC as the go-to makeup artist. Her first iconic shoot was in Australia for magazine ''Follow me'', which does not exist anymore. Val Garland: '' Makeup is everything… It’s your mantra to self confidence. On the catwalk it complements an outfit and strengthens the look of the season. On the street it influences everyday life. In turn it becomes a trend…. Major!''

Now Val works in London. And she does fabulous makeup. I looked at her work and I really like her style and ideas for makeup. Especially I like face art elements she uses in many images. I think she is very creative and does not scare to experiment on faces. Here are couple images that I like. In the first picture I like texture that she used and Gold-Silver composition on the eyes and eyebrows. In the second one I like colors and shades.
